Ok. I'm getting your point now. All good basketball players are explosive and I can agree with that I suppose. When I think of an explosive player, it's the 4 or 5 guys on the floor that can do things all of the other guys can't.

For the record, the only thing I ever said about Mays is that he is slow for an SEC guard, which is true. That only re-enforces why he is my 2nd favorite player on the team behind Waters. It just shows how hard he works and how smart he is when he gets to the rim so often.

I worked for southeastern b-ball. We literally had 5 guys every year who were as explosive and could dunk as good as mays. There are things like size and smarts that seperare mays from those players. You literally have never been to a college practice before. I’ve watched so many people get dunked on. As lunitik said angles, leverage, playing against taller slower players instead of PG all contribute to him being able to get to the rim. Also the fact that we have bigs who can shoot who space the floor for him. There is a lot to take into account but mays is not explosive. He is smooth

Meant to respond to P bean

So he gets to the rim and isnt explosive at 6’2 or so. And then dunks on people.

But he’s not explosive at all.

fricking rantards.
P Bean: you seem to have trouble interpreting my posts. I didn't say a thing about Mays' explosiveness.

I think he's quite explosive. I just said he doesn't finish well at the rim.

I definitely think he should try to flush it more often when he drives.

Lol like this isn't every players motive. It's not that easy couch potato. Defenders and body control play a part.

"Hey Skylar, you should dunk more"....

Lol thanks coach

I apologize all tiger if you were agreeing with me. I agree Mays is an explosive player, he plays alot like Jrue Holiday, and is a good college combo guard (not saying Mays could ever get to Jrues level). He has been a big help this year scoring over 10 a game, handling secondary ball hadnling duties, etc.

I agree also about finishing. He’s has some noce ones often but wayyy too often they go bad. Mays has to work on not forcing bad dribble drives, and not committing bone headed offensive charges. He had 4 in one half earlier this year.

Lsu1slu plays below the rim. Just kidding I dont know if you can dunk or not.

Regardless, Im sure SLU had plenty of awesome athletes that could dunk hard, and jump out the gym, but suck at basketball.

Obviously they arent as good at playing ball as Skylar, or else they wouldbt be at SLU. Skylar was a top 100 recruit.

But tell me again, how does comparing skylar to explosive players for SLU who cant play ball as well as Skylar, mean that Skylar is not an explosive player?????? Wtf is this frickery on here.

Skylar was called slow and unexplosive in this thread. And it was posted during the fricking game yesterday while Skylar was playing well. Wtf and why? What purpose does that serve? Watch the game, support the tigers etc.

Then some idiot used Manu Ginobili as support to show that Skylar is not explosive. Are you serious????? Ok, maybe old Manu isnt explosive anymore. Lol.

This thread needs to be buried under this board before Skylar comes to bitch slap all of you, sprint past you, and dunk on your damn faces.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand you just made my point for me after calling me a moron and arguing against the very same point. He still gets to the rim all the time.

When did Skylar Mays shrink 2 inches? Or are you distorting the facts to try to bolster your point?

My favorite part is that he's accusing us of saying Skylar isn't a good basketball player. Hilarious.

Anndddd you just made my point dipshit. Tell me does Manu still dunk it on people when he gets there like he used to when he was younger? fricking hilarious.

Manu in his prime put people on posters with massive dunks. Old manu lost his explosiveness (obviously cause he’s really old) and slips his way in, but a dunk for him nowadays is very rare.

You guys are oblivious. Try rooting for the tigers during the games instead of coming here to call them slow and unexplosive (especially if its an explosive player).

He’s more athletic than people think and at 6-4 has good size for a guard. Mays has made great strides this season, he’s only a sophomore but plays like a senior. He’s a big reason for the turnaround and with the solid veteran players returning plus the incredible talent Wade is bringing in we have a chance to challenge for the SEC title next year. We will be deep and experienced on the perimeter and the freshman will add the inside athletic ability and rebounding we didn’t have this year so we could be special.
