My wife has a recipe for Meat Pie a la Lu. Don't know who Lu was, but son.. This is a full sized pie that can be frozen (unbaked) and just dropped off. Bereaved folks never fail to call back for the recipe.

MEAT PIE A LA LU

1 lb ground meat
1 medium onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 large carrot, grated
½ cup celery, chopped
2 pie crusts
1 can cream mushroom soup
2/3 cup Romano or Parmesan cheese, grated
Salt and pepper to taste
Pinch of red pepper
Pinch of oregano, cumin and marjoram

Brown meat; drain off fat.

Add onions, garlic, celery, carrots; cook slightly.

Add soup, cheese and seasonings.

Line pie plate with pie crust.

Put mixture in pie crust.

Cover with second pie crust.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until crust is desired shade of brown.

Prepared, unbaked pies can be frozen, and make great offerings for funerals, etc.
