Most of the PSG regulars are resting for the 2nd leg v Madrid next week, hence Weah’s inclusion. But still, pretty exciting stuff. For an 18 year old American playing for PSG with that last name, this kid is seriously flying under the radar.

Anyone who knows anything about the youth ranks of the USMNT would disagree.

I really don't understand how Weah is a US citizen. I get he was raised here, but was he raised without his father? Or did the whole family live in the States before George moved back to Liberia?

He was born in NYC and lived in the States until he left for PSG.
It doesn’t sound like the rest of George’s family has lived in Liberia with him during his political career.

That's what confuses me. His father was playing in Italy, England and France the year Timothy was born. It's not hard to fathom his family living in the US, but during his playing career you would imagine they would be with him.

Weah's wife is a Jamaican-American. I would guess that the majority of her family lives in the US, and that is why Timothy and George Jr were mostly raised in Florida and New York. Timothy in particular was born towards the end of his father's career so they may have all stayed with the mom and her family, while George Weah came to the US in the summers. I know he lived in the US for several years after his retirement.

You people slamming him have no clue.
ALL Africans of an elevated socioeconomic status, politicians, dictators, their advisors, ministers, etcetera, make sure one child is born in the US.
Since the beginning of 'modern' time.
ETA. Makes little sense, should be Switzerland (but there could be worry about their reciprocal treatises).
