Teams with 6 or more wins in RPI top 30:
RPI
(5) North Carolina: 6 wins
(6) Kansas: 7 wins
(34)Oklahoma: 6 wins
(55)Florida: 6 wins
(82)LSU: 6 wins

LSU Real Time RPI

Out of 351 teams that is beyond impressive. As we all know, we probably will not make the big dance this year, but the future is very bright.

Still would like to finish out the season on a high note with an NIT game and 1st Round win. Would give the program something to build on with the great class coming in.

Well we had seven last week. So it's even more impressive to have one disappear

Yeah it's unfortunate that Mizzou win isn't as valuable now.

Having that many and not making the tournament sucks big time. A top 30 win used to be unheard of here

Could not agree more. I would think it’s been at least 10 years since we’ve had this many quality wins in the regular season.

Catch-22 with those; on the one hand, you want quality wins. On the other hand, you don't want a team you might be competing with for a spot to have a significantly better resume.

I totally agree with your post. At this point I hope we can grab a couple of nit and home games and get to Madison Square Garden. Based on the team's Talent level in the culture overhaul I think that would be phenomenal

Regardless of where we end up this year it’s a great sign of things to come. It shows that Wade can win a lot of games against teams who are better and have more talent than we do. Once we get his players into the mix nobody in the country will be out of reach for us.

This.

When Waters has another true backcourt scorer in Smart, A true rim protector in Bigby-williams, A true dominant post scorer in Naz, and a second unit that's full of talent then this team will be a force....think next year's squad is in any way a bad rebounding team?

I’m with you on every point you made. Waters passing and playmaking ability should be even more overstated next season with guys who’ll do more with the open looks and better angles he creates. Smart will be a freshman and nothing is garunteed with freshman but he too is a playmaking type combo guard who’ll not only give us more punch with his scoring ability but also create easy looks and opportunities for the new guys. Naz will not only give us more inside scoring and rebounding but his versatility will make him an immediate star and fan favorite for LSU. Then like you said we’ll have Bigby-Williams as a great rim protector/rebounder who can also run the floor like a deer and has the ability to knock down the 15 foot jumper and finish at the rim. Emmitt Williams will be another guy who’ll help tremendously on the glass. He’s not quite as big as Reid but is a physical athletic and aggressive rebounder who will give us that mean streak and toughness we missed all season this year as well as inside scoring. I haven’t done a lot of homework on Days but he’s another big time recruit so I’m sure he’s going to factor in as well. You add all that to a group of veterans with plenty of starts under their belt like Mays, Edwards and Sampson giving you shooting and experience on the perimeter plus Sims and Rachal who are solid role players and you have a very good if not great mix for next season.

Very impressive. I feel guilty for thinking we wouldn’t get more than 5 SEC wins this season :)
