That said this doesn't happen over night. Meetings dont keep me sober they are just a piece. Get a sponsor work the Steps have a spiritual experience and do 10 11 and 12 all day.

Wow..what classic "AA" thread. It's easy to see who works a real program and has found srenity and who can't stop drinking but wants to pace blame on anything and everything except themselves. Here's the deal as I know it to be true:


A real Alcoholic has lost, and will Never again regain, the ability to control their drinking once they start.

AA, when it's boiled down to the core, is about working the 12 Steps found on page 59.

The 12 Steps are about developing a relationship with a Power greater than yourself.

This Power gives you, finally, the ability to make the decision to not take the first sip of the first drink Today.

Rehab can get you sober, AA keeps you sober! It has worked when nothing else could.
