Without experience with either a 2.5:1 price difference tells me to get the honda. Honda engines are not a gimmick and priced accordingly.

Until yamaha came out with their newer style inverters a year ago, they were all very close to identical.

The harbor freight one is bulletproof, but more of a generator than inverter. Hook a tester to it and you will NOT get a perfect SIN wave that you should.

Both the Honda and yamaha use a very large amount of plastic internal engine components.

Gun to my head, the Honda is the better unit, but the yamaha has the better warranty if something were to go wrong. When I bought my last 1000, 6 years of warranty was like 100 bones.

Own two Honda 2000s and one yamaha 1000.
