From the one video I saw the dude wanted to get rid of his AR as a form of support but could never guarantee that if he sold it legally it wouldn't end up in the hands of someone that goes postal, hence the reason he "destroyed" it.

This isn't that crazy.

That’s pretty crazy Think about the other things you could never sell with that mindset.

Only he didn’t destroy it. He temporarily rendered it inoperable. It can be fixed in 10 minutes with a new barrel while watching TV.

Which makes me doubt a lot of these videos are genuine. A halfway intelligent gun owner knows this wouldn’t destroy it. It would be par for the course for this to begin to be staged by loons. A network sending a staffer to run through the check and get one to just destroy would be well worth the cost wouldn’t it? 700 or so bucks for a cheaper one vs them running it on a loop in prime time? Oh it’s gonna happen at least once.
