None yet thankfully. But if Trump infringes on these boys' 2nd amendment rights, I cant wait to see the spin.

I love the knee jerk to suggestions he is contemplating some actions, alters are the bestest.

Incorrect. You can shoot one as an employee of the US government under the orders of your superior officer. Just like in Afghanistan.

It's funny how some people think it makes sense that rights can be in conflict with one another.

If an 18 year old age requirement can exist, I don't see any reason why a move to a 21 year old age requirement would be struck down.

The right to bear arms is what enables you to have "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".

Tell me what other amendment or right afforded by the constitution protects any other rights? Do you believe you can use the "freedom of speech" to keep the government from doing unwarranted searches, housing people in your home against your will or any of the other things that the government could overreach and do?

Dumbass.

The legal age to own a handgun in the U.S. is already 21. So you could look at it as precedent.

FWIW, the Sandy Hook shooter was 20 at the time of the murders. He had two handguns in his possession at the time of the crime. He stole them from his mom (along with the bushmaster) and killer her with them.

18 year olds can actually own a handgun in many states, they just can't buy them from stores.

So if 18-20 year olds are banned from owning "AR style" weapons, what about SKS, Mini Ruger, pistol caliber carbines, semi-auto .22's, lever actions, etc?

Are they going to be restricted to bolt actions and shotguns only?

What is the aim of the law? To stop school shootings? If so this law would have virtually no impact. How many school shootings were committed by 18 year olds and up who purchased their own weapon? This sounds like nothing more than a worthless gesture to appeal to the crazed anti-gun activists. This will have no long-term benefits in respect to curbing school shootings and will set the precedent for further irrational restrictions under false pretenses.

If it is a worthless gesture, then why wouldn't Trump and the GOP go along with it?

This argument is akin to holding your breath.

The pro gun lobby better get to the table before another shooting happens.

Funny that the founders wrote both of these things and didn't find them to be remotely at odds with one another as fundamental principles our republic. Once again illustrating their superior intellect over contemporary leftists

Right now Trump is confused and his need to be liked is becoming a weakness.

How he handles this situation will determine how he's remembered. If he turns on the NRA he is finished

Columbine?

I really can't remember where the shooters obtained the weapons. I believe one was a Tec-9 but don't recall how they got their hands on it.

They might for all I know. It's worthless in terms of it's results not in respect to it's effects of stripping liberties from 18-20 year olds. It's actually a very serious and far reaching action in that respect.

See below:

Where'd They Get Their Guns?

An Analysis of the Firearms Used in High-Profile Shootings, 1963 to 2001

Date: April 20, 1999

Location: Columbine High School, Littleton, Colorado

Alleged Shooters: Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold

People Killed: 15 (shooters committed suicide)

People Injured: 23

Firearm(s): Intratec TEC-DC9 assault pistol, Hi-Point 9mm Carbine, Savage 67H pump-action shotgun, and a Savage 311-D 12-gauge shotgun

Circumstances

The two students walked through their high school at lunchtime on April 20, 1999, shooting at classmates and teachers before killing themselves. Twelve students and one teacher were killed. In addition to their firearms, they had scattered an assortment of explosive devices throughout the school, many of which did not detonate.

How Firearm(s) Acquired

Robyn Anderson, a friend of Klebold and Harris, bought the shotguns and the Hi-Point 9mm Carbine at The Tanner Gun Show in December of 1998 from unlicensed sellers. Because Anderson purchased the guns for someone else, the transition constituted an illegal "straw purchase." Klebold and Harris bought the TEC-DC9 from a pizza shop employee named Mark Manes, who knew they were too young to purchase the assault pistol, but nevertheless sold it to them for $500

Yeah I wasn't trying to make a point was a question....I really couldn't remember how they got their hands on it but you're right....straw purchase from an older friend.
