Maybe the most underrated band of its era
Thought you might check in too.

Lakeboy had a good suggestion. Self-titled debut is fantastic too. And I really love Mirrors as well. Not a weak song on it. Can’t really go wrong with any of it though.
Nice. I'm gonna check those out.

I'm really only familiar with their radio stuff. What albums would You recommend that will get me going?
Depends on you're taste. BOC is a very versatility group and their catalogue generally morphed over time. Might start with Agents of Fortune, Fire of Unknown Origin and Mirrors, then check out sone of their earlier stuff.

So the show was damn good overall. Great setlist. Awesome to see them play The Vigil live for the first time (for me).
Had to also be one of the strangest rock shows I’ve been to. Not too surprising I suppose but the majority of folks stayed seated most of the time, standing to cheer between songs then sitting again. Hell, a lot of 60 and 70 somethings there so they get a pass. Haha. Permanent theater seats encourage that too as opposed to a club with open floor in front of the stage. Most were standing through the encores though.
Eric and Buck’s voices of course are not what they once were so they’ve had to adjust the way they sing on a lot of the classics. That makes it a real bummer that I haven’t seen them in so long because last time I saw them their voices were still quite strong. Their voices were always very distinct too so that was a big difference. They still play remarkably well though. Happy to report that Buck still shreds like he did as a young man. Fantastic in that aspect.
So all in all a great show.

I've enjoyed my time with Blue Oyster considerably.

Saw them in Gainesville in late 70's. Still remember when they started to play Godzilla. They turned down the lights and when they brought them back up, the drummer had leaned backwards and then came up with a Godzilla head on and went right into the song. Crowd went nuts. Awesome show and an awesome band. I'm jealous

Love BOC, started a thread about them a couple of months back. They are truly a shining example of an underappreciated band. Great music, thoughtful and well played. Glad you got to see them. My only time live was opening for Ozzy back in 1986. They were way better live then Ozzy.
