I hate to tell you but Hess can't go 9 innings. That's why scrimmages are played prior to real games. What makes you think a guy who came out the pen can go 9? We don't need 9 innings we need 4-5 innings and he couldn't get 2.

He was a SP until last year. He was put in the pen last year as more of a luxury than anything else.

He can’t go 9 innings running it up to 97. He has to sit at 92 and learn to run it up when needed and get his command.
Command is everything, not velocity.

Hess must eventually go deep. Dunn must see how his arm wears and recoups
