re: Mono leader when using braided line...is it needed?

Lacassine is probably the clearest water ive ever bass fished in, and we used straight braid. Use a sharpie to color the line when it gets faded. Caught a bunch of bass there with braid. If youre fishing somewhere crystal clear, then maybe use a leader, but here in LA, you dont need a leader.

Full disclosure: ive only been bass fishing for a year, and im not very good at it yet.
