My opinion is that you should. Just for the recognition of the recruit, and marketing our brand.

Send the message: "If you're one of the top-32 in all of High School, LSU wants you".

A) I don't think it's going to be scaring away other 5* or 4*, except maybe QBs. They seem to be really sensative about such things.

B) What's the worst that can happen? We get 25 each 5*'s? I won't cry.

C) We ain't going to fill the class up with 5*'s anyway.

D) Just because they hold an offer, when the rubber meets the road you don't HAVE to accept the commitment if it interferes with numbers/needs. Reference Goodrich.

For me it's not a recruiting strategy, it's a marketing strategy that enhances your recruiting strategy.

Hell, I think any in-state recruit that gets a 250 spot or more bump in the late season update should get an offer too. That's a little more risky

The reason why you don't offer every 5 star is just bc they say a player has 5 stars, doesn't mean he's that good
