As many have stated the number of victims needs to be 3 or more in order to qualify as a "mass shooting". If you use that definition then maybe. It is like the definition of serial killers. According to the FBI, a serial killer is someone who commits at least three murders over more than a month with an emotional cooling off period in between. Makes you feel like serial killers/mass shootings aren't "as bad".

I just read an article that states we have had 18 school shootings this year. The number sounds high and maybe the definition is "gun gets fired with the intent to do harm", bur does it matter what the definition is? I know I would be destroyed if it was my child who was injured/killed in a shooting incident.

Right, so a dude brings a gun to school and shoots a guy he has beef with. That is technically a "school shooting" but is misleading in the stats.

Over the last 30 years 371 students of all ages were killed in school shootings, every death is a tragedy, but to put it into perspective over the same 30 years 70,000 teenage drivers age 16-19 were killed in accidents, that being the number one cause of death among teenagers.
