TIA for any input...

My old Panasonic has a bad Board so I'm scrapping it...

I'm shopping deals for an LG or a Sony 65" TV $1000 or below. Apparently, the 2018 models are due out in March or April so retailers are trying to clear out the 2017 inventory.

Main goal is the very best picture for sports and movies...

Anybody gone through this recently?

Wait until April when the new TCL 65" comes out. That's what I'm waiting on.

Yep, I’m holding out for the new TCL. The technology is top of the line and it should definitely be sub $1,000 (hoping for closer to $700-800).

I'm betting it'll be $849 - $899 price range. If so, I hope they start taking pre-orders 'cause I want on that list.

Should we expect a price drop on the P-Model? Been eyeballing it for a while, but haven't pulled the trigger.

I bought a new LG for work for 800 from best buy. We run the 15 hours a day and our company has had the most success with that brand

I haven't bought a new TV since 2009 and this one intrigues me.

I got a Samsung at Sams last year right before new ones came out

Stay with S tv's Samsung, Sony, Sharp and you will be ok

Vizio will not last as long, LG's are ok and stay away from the off brands-- a lot of junk out there

P has likely already been cut about as low as they need to move the inventory. Maybe you can find one on the cheap once the new 6 series launches.

My current TV is about 7 years old and it has started a faint buzzing every time I turn it on. I know it is about to go out so just hoping it can last until April.

Or, you could go to rtings.com and read the reviews from the experts on which TVs are the best. Even the best OEMs put out the occasional shite product.

Laugh all you want. He didn't state "build quality". That's yet to be determined, however, since pretty much EVERY reviewer on the new 6 series is showering them with praise, and you've never experienced it as a first hand owner or reviewer, I at you for your chortle.

Price-to-value ratio on TCLs is arguably the best in the industry. The 6 series reviews are glowing in an industry that is known to be cynical.

Do you work at Sam's in the electronics section?

You sound like you work at Sam's in the electronics section.

Sounds like the new "thing". Thanks for the heads up. We may start seeing more articles and reviews here in the next few weeks. Sounds like the 2018 internal hardware is far superior to a 2017 model. Never heard of a TCL Brand. Anyone own one? How old? Any problems?

I got a 65” around Christmas time and I love it so far. They are one of the largest tv manufacturers in the world(third largest I believe) and are starting to grow in the US. Every part of the tv is produced by them.
