Warranty and support. Which a budget or swappa phone may or may not have.
For myself, I keep my phones 3-4 years, so buying the best phone (Whatever it may be) for myself makes sense. Though I'm still rocking the iPhone 6 Plus that I bought brand new.

Sadly, this is true.
I've never bought a phone that was over $300, because i find the same usage out of a 2016 model vs a 2018 model.
