Gentlemen, I stand corrected.

Just read it’s a 30-06 case necked up to .36 ...... the whelen is basically a 30-06 case necked to the .35

So the 9.3x62 is essentially a 36 Whelen... it WILL fit in medium length actions as noted but not the 375HH in power.

Id love to have a 9.3x62 just because I like the caliber. Big heavy bullet at moderate speed and bolt-action rifle friendly.

The old metric calibers are really good about being easy on the shoulder while still making good velocity. Its a shame that .308 and .30-06 are the action length dictators. That really limits the offerings out there in the sweet ones like the Swede and the 7's.

I think Steyr used to make a 9.3x62 Pro Hunter and Forester. Great combo.
