So let me get this straight, a coach who has been around for the better part of 30 years and failed at his only full time HC position and hadn't been offered another since and we don't know what he's capable of?

correct. Past history is usually the best indicator of the future. And not a single other college program was chasing (or even interviewing) O for a head coaching position.

And since he's been here, O has hired and fired an OC, lazily promoted from within for his second OC, and had a disappointing recruiting class in 2018, compared with the past 5 years (ranked 6,2,8,5,8) and is the second worst in a decade.
