Aren't we an NIT lock already without losing out the remainder of our schedule, which is highly unlikely? We're inconsistent, but I don't see any scenario where we're not playing in the NIT at least.

No scenario? If we lose the rest of our games or even win one we would have a losing record. Not only would we not play in the NIT we wouldn’t even be eligible.
And having a winning record far from guarantees an NIT bid. There is the misconception that if you are not terrible you make the NIT. In reality the NIT is mostly filled with mid major and small conference teams that won their conference (but not tourney) and bubble teams left out of the NCAA tourney.
