you literally start at the top of the heap and decide who you think the best coaches in America are. You scratch out the names that are ultimately pipe dreams and by the time you get to possible names you've got guys with proven track records that could be talked into coaching at a Top 10 program with NFL caliber players in front of 100,000 for more than most coaches will make.
This. LSU Administration missed this step, and their isn't a motherfricker on here who can defend that.

Anyone that suggests that Orgeron should have fallen just behind Jimbo and Herman on our Wish List is either a liar or retarded. Again...this wasn;t 1980 when we had to beg Jerry Stoval to step in during the spring after Bo Rein was killed and we had no other options.
In this case, we should have had all of November of 2015, all Off-season and nearly all of the 2016 season to vet every possible candidate.
the suggestion that there were only two possible candidates and then Ed Orgeron is fricking laughable.
And let's be honest...not one person outside of his immediate family believes that horseshite. Were his name John Wilson and from Idaho, we'd have burned down Alleva's house had they tried to foist a man with a career 10-25 record on us after the past 16 seasons of success.
