There were two Ivy kids in their class last year and three this year
Harvard and Princeton last year, seven of the top ten went to Texas
Harvard, Yale and Columbia this year, one Rice kid
Ivy admissions are all about backstory, interview and alumni sponsorship
The real cutthroat admissions here is the Service Academies with the political endorsement game.

Ivy admissions are all about backstory,

It makes me sad that people put their heads on their pillows at night and truly believe this.
Of course connections help - welcome to the real world.
But if you’re qualified and stand out above the rest, you’re in. If you aren’t accepted, you’re not at the level that you thought you were.
