Govt Spent 356 K on a Sex Study of Japanese Quail.

Rand Paul taking these fools to task on CSPAN right now. He just cited an example of spending "356 thousand dollars last year to study if "Japanese quail are more sexually promiscuous when on cocaine." When you hear that it's really hard not to respect what he's doing.

A lot of research seems odd but yields results in application. We don't really know the backstory on this, if it exists at all. Perhaps this particular species of bird produces an enzyme which can be synthesized into a medication. Who knows.
But this kind of drama queen stuff is not productive. He's really just wasting time to secure a shutdown.

Not sure about the cost, but the study happened. I just spent 25 minutes reading about Quail Sex and Cocaine via Google.

Actually...we do know. They wanted to find out if cocaine would increase risky sexual behaviors in humans.
