I've been interested in this, too. I've done a little with Duolingo, but just feel like I don't retain it enough. It's like they throw some vocab at you, then you never see it again.

I've been debating investing in Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish, I just haven't been convinced to pull the trigger yet.

It's very hard to learn a new language when you use it in small doses a few minutes a day.

It takes kids a couple years from when they start being able to mimic what you say and when they can speak the language conversationally, and that's with nonstop immersion on a brain that is a sponge compared to our adult brains.
