In a prior post I showed Thomas Jefferson in the White House celebrating with military parades. Here’s John Adams before occupation of White House.
1798- Adams is in Philadelphia reviewing a parade of military companies and later that afternoon receiving and entertaining guests.

Dude, different time. There's just such a difference in the military before and after WWI that I'm not sure Adams or Jefferson would want this crap either after the Great War. Bastille Day is a relic from a past era i.e. Jefferson and Adams' era. Now most military parades, they're marching if their lives depend on it... because it does. The countries that most frequently have military parades I'm willing to bet had the greatest human rights atrocities of the 20th and 21st centuries.
