I can see how this would all play out:
Donald Trump, Robert Mueller and teams of attorneys for both sides meet in a conference room one bright Monday morning and take seats on either side of the table.
Mueller: “Good morning, Mr. President. To begin these proceedings, I’d like to ask you for the record if your full name is Donald John Trump.”
DJT: “Yes. It is.”
Mueller:AHA!!! GOTCHA!!! Your full name is actually Donald John Trump SENIOR!!! DRAW UP THE INDICTMENTS!!!”

Just now seeing this part from the NYT article
