re: Is Brady already the GOAT?

Nope. Fact is, when given the chance, Brady's mediocre backups can go 14-6 in the Patriots system. Definitely minimizes Brady a bit. Most people can recognize that. I don't hate the guy, he's a HOFer. But you seem to be incapable of being objective about it because he's your hero so there's no point in going further.

So with that idiotic logic you decided to apply and consequently get thoroughly destroyed by me accordingly, Earl Morrall's 1968 season minimizes Johnny Unitas' career, Steve Young's performances as a BACKUP to Joe Montana minimizes Joe Montana, Bubby Brister's performances as backup in 1998 minimizes John Elway, Aaron Rodgers' backup in 2013 when A-Rod was injured half the season minimizes A-Rod and Doug Pederson/Scott Mitchell in 1993 with Miami minimizes Dan Marino. You walked into that trap like a mug, have a great night and don't show up with that stupid-arse logic again less you get OBLITERATED by the logical people on this thread.

Just played brilliantly and broke a SB record for passing yards at 40.
Posted on 2/4/18 at 11:12 pm to Jake88
I guess all those games Frank Reich played and won as backup to Jim Kelly minimizes Jim Kelly too, man are you serious coming in here with that crap?

See what I'm getting at here? You're just arguing with me for the sake of arguing, and that's kind of the point.
Actually that wasn’t my intention. I would actually argue Montana and definitely Brady are better passers than Elway. They won more because they played for better franchises.

One could argue, however, that the QB also controls winning more than any other single player on the field.
This to me is part of the problem. Of course its true, but there’s still way too much that’s beyond the QBs control that determines the outcome of the game. The game tonight is a great example. Brady throws for 505 with no INTs, they didn’t even punt and still lost.
Or look at the end of SB XXV compared to XXXVI. Like Brady Jim Kelly drove his team down for a game winning FG. The difference is Norwood missed and Vinateri made it. Would you think less of Brady if Carroll runs Lynch instead of passing and Sea wins that one? Or if Atlanta doesn’t go brain dead and runs to set up and makes a FG to go up by 11 late in the 4th? What Brady did to come back was amazing but he still needed help from his D and the Atlanta coaches. Frank Reich lead a Big come back in the playoffs

Super Bowl XXV is an interesting game to assess because while Buffalo's D ultimately disappointed the team with all the TOP they conceded, that Giants D played really well containing the K-Gun and conceding the run to Thurman Thomas which Buffalo didn't pick up on initially, IIRC LT wasn't a main factor in the game it was the DBs and other LBs

Young was great in his own right, a HOFer, you'd expect him to do well. Morrall went 20-3 in starts after that 1968 season, so he was a good QB as well. Brister played four games in 1998. That's nothing compared to Cassel. Scott Mitchell went 3-4. Rodgers' back-ups went 2-4 in 2013. Get out with you weak shite.
Brady's mediocre back ups won in the Patriots' system...14-6. Minimizes Brady a bit.

LOL that was when he became a STARTER not when he was backup moron to Joe Cool, you're REALLY BAD at arguing positions and discrediting things

Played in the SHULA SYSTEM like Unitas did and carried over to Miami but continue with your idiocy

Last I checked they won all 4 of those games, genius let's minimize Elway now!
quote:
Scott Mitchell went 3-4.
Got him that big contract with Detroit but let's sustain idiocy by someone who can't argue worth shite

Forgot to mention Danny White succeeding Staubach in the Cowboys "system" so that minimizes Staubach now? Checkmate "genius" learn how to argue next time.

Your entire reply here is worthless. Additionally, I've not suggested Unitas, Elway or Kelly were the GOAT. Montana and Marino are in the conversation and your points with them were really weak.

You really suck at this actually, last I checked Frank Reich led the Bills to the GREATEST COMEBACK VICTORY IN NFL HISTORY and SUBSEQUENTLY led them to ANOTHER playoff victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Three Rivers, dude just accept the L or you'll get destroyed here

You haven't done anything except declare your own victory with all caps. I suspect you're a kid based on that style of posting. Your response with the backups simply didn't deliver and was easily refuted.

LOL please explain this to me Mr. "I Can't Argue Positions Effectively So I'm Just Gonna Call People Out Without Justifying It" GTFO before you get destroyed FOREVERMORE in the MSB

When someone gets as angry as it seems you are it becomes obvious you've got nothing and you recognize that. Therefore you start declaring some sort of victory and yell the loudest.
