Suddenly?????

Relatively yes, it’s been suddenly to most of us non-regular gymnastics followers.

There is just so much pressure to clean house at USAG. I read a rumor that Chow was going back to China to be a national coach.

There needs to be an investigation into the individual coaches, they were part of the major problems at the elite level. I never was a fan of Valeri, he's an abusive a-hole and I don't like how he tries to develop gymnasts. They all burn out because he doesn't know how to pace most of them. Katelyn Ohashi was one that really stood out to me, he ruined her career.

Would be shame, Chow is a phenomenal coach.

I’ve also read that Weiber is being groomed to take over for Miss Val, but, like you said, no time soon.

Same, I just have to laugh. I've seen her run camps before, I just don't know how she could possibly keep UCLA as a national power.

But it would be very UCLA, they are all politics over there

You can't build Rome in a day!

It takes 41 years!

Why doesn't LSU just make Clark the head coach and save a bunch of money?

Yeah, that’s what we did with Orgeron. We took a third tier assistant coach, known for his recruiting prowess, and made him the head honcho. Saved a bunch of money, too, but not really, because we are having to overpay assistants to compensate.

Bottom line is some people work best as assistant coaches, not a head coach who over see's and structures a program top to bottom.

Their program took a step back and failed to make super six his last three years as coach.

I think Jay is an excellent bars coach but his best asset is a recruiter. You can recruit well but in terms of management and schemes of routines of the overall team, its very different.
I believe all three coaches contribute significantly to the current winning chemistry. DD should be welcome to stay as long as she wants. However, I have no doubt we'll be in good hands with Jay when she does step down. Learning to be the main recruiter and the head coach at the same time, particularly at a program with extremely high expectations and little patience, is not the safest way to start you career, but then again, who would turn down that opportunity? Jay will be much better prepared this time around.

Don't respond to those types of morons, it's just giving them the attention they are craving.

Didn't Sue Gunter do pretty much the same thing?
These type of coaches would not be able to this nowadays since fans have the win now attitude or be fired. Plus gymnastics didn't matter to fans until lately. Just like baseball didn't matter until the mid 80's. I remember when you didn't need a ticket for gymnastics, softball, wbb, and baseball.
