It’s not a perfect world. Some clubs don’t care about rankings and don’t want to be considered. So if they all participated then it would give accurate data.

I can promise you the masterminds that come up with the way to rank have thought about all angles to improve it.

I'm guessing there is a mistake with the NC course ranking. They listed Linville Ridge but NOT Linville Golf club.

LR is a neat mountain course but most feel like it is middling at best. Maybe 40 years old. Nothing special.

Linville Golf is a Donald Ross gem. Hundred plus years old. Has barely been touched. It is kind of like Pinehurst 2. It is all right in front of you and you think you'll be fine and you shoot 10 over your number.

Anyway..

That’s a lame excuse. Even the ones listed are laughably out of order. Have you been to the Bluffs lately? It was in sad condition before it was hit by two floods that basically wiped away two holes. Membership is down and they haven’t fixed those two holes. But sure... 4th best course in the state.

ETA: there should be a disclaimer: “These aren’t really the best courses in the state.”
