Wrote this analogy somewhere else, but copied it so maybe you can see how ridiculous this whole thing is.

Lets say I didn't like you, so I hired a Private investigator to follow you to say you have been embezzling money. I then pay the local paper to run a story on you embezzling money citing the "investigation". I then convince the local law enforcement to issue a warrant for your arrest citing the article and private investigation, and them approving it. There is literally no difference in the two situations.
