AD is simply a very good complimentary player. AD hides in the 4th. Boogie has the killer instinct. Boogie is the star of this team. I hoped that AD would learn from Boogie. It’s evident from the last two games that he has not.

Boogie wants the ball in the 4th, AD doesn’t

It feels wrong and reactionary to think this way but I kind of agree. AD refuses to step up. He's too laid back and too chill. AD obviously has the talent to be the guy and have that killer instinct, but he doesn't show it. Jrue shows it and it electrifies the team (i.e. Jrue's defense against Chicago). But Boogie is the heart of this team and Dell better do all he can to bring him back. Because unless there's a change in AD, this team isn't going anywhere without Boogie

I guess none of y'all ever watched the Pelicans BEFORE Gentry was the coach. Anthony Davis was an absolute killer at 21-22 years old and stupid clutch at the end of games. 2 monsterous performances against San Antonio (1st one game winner, 2nd one carried us when it got stale towards the end and got us the 8th seed). Took over against the Bucks dropping 43 on 74% and scoring in double digits during the 4th. Carried us to victory against the Warriors when they said pregame "This is a scrimmage for us"..Oh let me not forget the monsterous performance against OKC including a 37 foot double clutch 3 ball to win the fricking game. Is it AD or Gentry? Its obviously Gentry cus he always draws bullshite up for a Holiday iso at the end of games that he never finishes. AD is a coachable young SuperStar whos putting up numbers that ONLY Kareem up WHILE HIS TALENT ISN'T BEING MAXIMIZED!!!!!!! He needs a better coach. Sign Cousins long term and can Gentry 5 minutes after the ink dries.

AD is my favorite player and I hate to say it, but I agree. He doesn't have the killer instinct and have the want to take over games like Boogie does, or like Jrue has done lately.

Yal are reactionary as hell. Myself included, but seriously.

AD has looked this way since the turn of the year, he's looked tired and not putting a lot of juice on the dunks. Maybe its being weary and tired playing 36MPG at this pace. Maybe its trying not to overexert himself to get injured.

But either way, we know one thing for sure. Boogie is needed on this team. We're a team with no depth and was top heavy.

Gentry doesn't like Midrange shots. He will probably never run a play for Davis to take one at the end of games. Davis doesn't do well in the isolation and isn't a good enough passer to put the ball in his hands in the closing seconds. Davis hesitates when the shot/lane isn't there. This is the difference between Davis and Cousins, Cousins has never seen a shot that he didn't like. He'll force it regardless. And often times he will out bully you to score.

If you want Davis to close out games, they need to build it around the midrange shot. He'll take it if he's open but if the defense collapse, it'll lead to an open dribble drive to the basket. That's what Monty did well, he allowed Davis to maximize his talents while taking out all unnecessary variables.

This is nonsense. The pels are one of the best teams in the NBA in close games and have been great with AD making big plays in the last minute.

AD and Drew were too passive. Rondo and Boogie were definitely needed in the Pels locker room to help them become more aggressive. Thanks Boogie and Rondo.
