Oh for the love of God. Please explain how the soil on the Louisiana side shifts and subsides, but the soil immediately over the border with Texas doesn't.

Like I said, we also use a thinner road base (because we're cheap when it comes to actually performing any work), which magnifies the soil shifting problem. Hence why there would be a difference when you cross the border.
