Your best bet is to not answer any unrecognized numbers. If it is important or legitimate, they'll leave voice mail or text message.
Once you have identified the spam caller, block their number with your cell phone (most have this built in today).
They are tricky though, because many spammers using a local area code when calling.

I work in sales so that's a dumb option.

I bet I have a thousand blocked numbers in my phone and I still get 3 to 5 shite calls a day. So aggravating.
