What is realistic outlook for baseball?

No flaming...just be objective....I’m thinking this could be down year due to lack of good pitching (ie..Rinaudo...Nola...Gausman type). Thoughts?

It is hard to tell without knowing what pitchers step up.
If the pitching is sub par, or takes a large chunk of the season to get it together then you can see a regional 2 seed.
If pitching is solid all year, regional host/fringe national seed.
The offense and defense will be as good as it usually is. It all depends on the pitching staff.

Gilbert was pretty nasty down the stretch last year and we all know Hess has the stuff to be a Friday starter...but can both make the transition. Then you find a guy for Sunday Like we did last year when a freshman stepped up. Lots of really good JC transfers and incoming freshman to choose from. The cupboard is not bare.

There are two givens. Hess and Gilbert will be a weekend starter early in the season.
Gilbert/Hess is not Lange/Poche though. That is not saying that they can't be nearly as solid though. It is just that even those two have question marks. So basically nothing is a sure thing with the pitching staff. The talent and available arms will be there though, so this team will go as far as the pitching staff will take them.
I expect CWS quality bats and fielding.

People will call for CPM to be fired.

JUCO transfer Cam Sanders has the potential to be that dominant Friday night guy.
We could have a solid rotation by conference play.

Just based off of how much production we lost from last season and how unknown our starting pitching staff will be during pre-conference games, I am feeling a 18-12 SEC record, with a 32-16 overall record prior to the SEC tournament. Probably a 3-4 seed for the SEC tourney. Won't predict beyond those games.

This is a given. Will not even be after the first loss. It will begin during the first game LSU is losing in by the 5th inning.

We have no idea yet. Lineup should be filthy.
If Hess has durability he could be a Lange, Nola talent.
Gilbert showed great control and has put away stuff.
We need a 3rd starter to emerge.
Realistic outlook- 40 Win season, host a regional

Well, I do, for one.
You know what I usually do with threads that I dont care about? I dont open them. Why? Because I simply don't really care about what's in them. Perhaps you should try that method. Or, you know, you can carry on being a douchebag. Whichever works for you.

Sweep Notre Dame - give CPM a raise
FF a couple weeks...
Lose midweek game - CPM has lost control

Never gets old to see y’all click on baseball threads then make the effort to post about not caring about baseball. What a life that must be.

That when we lose a midweek game the rant will call for CPM's head

Pitching depth will be the key.
How quickly some of the new arms come around will be the key part of this team.
I think Dunn finds away.
Good thing is you don't really need pitching depth until regionals if you should fall into a loser's bracket situation. By then, SEC play will show you who you can count on.
