does he have a full time job?
Sorta. Its a part time job with full time hours at times. He is going to tech school two nights a week for a few hours.
My reason for this is more to light a fire under him than to get paid. He needs to learn that things move quickly and its time to grow up. He has been out of high school a few years now and he is just wondering through life. Its time to move forward
I dont need then money, its just a motivator to wake up. He is a good kid just not extremely motivated to grow up.

I think it's admirable way to show parental compassion and love. Let him know this is what's going to happen sooner rather than later. And sooner Starts Now.
And I was just picking at you about the dictionary. BTW, you still spelled 'graduated' incorrectly.

You are doing the right thing.
Figure out market rate in your area and charge him a 3rd of it.
Suggest roommates if he has friends

If you do end up charging him, and don’t need the money, you should take a page from finebaumshair’s pop and save that coin and give it to him when he moves out. You’ll have gotten your point across, and your son will have a nice chunk of change to get himself set up.
