How is there not more outrage over Nikki Caldwell?

She is, without a doubt, the biggest waste of money I’ve ever seen involved with LSU athletics. If we want to talk about Alleva failures, let’s talk about her absolutely ridiculous contract- $700,000 on a fricking women’s basketball coach who was only making $350,000 at her last job. There’s no reason that Alleva should’ve doubled her salary to come here given the fact that she wasn’t even that successful at a blue blood basketball school (UCLA) and never made it past the second round of the WNCAAT or proved that she could recruit her own players. And let’s also throw in over $500,000 in performance incentives that would force LSU to throw away another football assistant coach’s salary on an unprofitable sport in the event that she was “successful”. Did Alleva give her a blank piece of paper and let her draft her own contract or something?

She’s been at LSU for 6+ years, hasn’t ever lost fewer than 10 games, hasn’t made it out of the first round of the tournament since Odell Beckham was on campus in 2013, the product she’s putting out is AWFUL and we’re not even in the same ballpark as good programs, and has a stellar 50-46 SEC record. All of this at one of the premier women’s college basketball programs just years before she got here.

Why is no one talking about the fact that we’ve been letting a failed women’s college basketball coach who doesn’t seem to care about her job or recruiting steal $700,000+ per year from the university for over half of a decade with absolutely no end in sight? Not even any talks of her seat getting warm?
