Matt Canada leading Candidate for Maryland OC

I was surprised he isn't getting a higher profile job. Did LSU ruin his reputation? Or is he just not respected in general?

Most places, especially P5 schools, have all of their staff hired already, so he won't get many looks due to that.
His reputation won't take a hit because it's well known he was working for an idiot. He may not be the most respected guy out there, but he doesn't have to be. Most mature coaches act like adults and make things work with their assistants for the betterment of the team, but not the shrimp boat captain.

How many times must this be explained? People are pissed because O meddled in his offense so we're fairly certain we never got to see Canada run his offense. We paid him a year's salary and $1.5 million to go away because O couldn't keep his hands off the offense.

All of that is hearsay-posted-on-an-internet-forum-crap. No one on here really knows what happened. All that can be said for sure is that Canada has switched jobs like 4 times in 7 years. He's either really good, a complete gimmick wizard, or an a-hole that can talk his way into a job but wears out his welcome tout suite.

Shifty, if Canada accepts the job at Maryland, it will be his 7th OC job at as many schools since 2010. He is obviously a head case that doesn't get fit in anywhere or get along with anyone. That instability screams that he is fricking toxic.

Probably a little of all three of these is true. People saying he sucks baffles me though. I think if O would have left him alone and he could have had another year here we would have seen what his offense could have been here.

Many assistants move around a lot, particularly if they want to position themselves for a head coaching job one day.
Before Canada got to LSU, NC State was the only place that fired him, after 3 years, and by a coach that had worked with him at another school.
But please, continue believing your silly narrative if it makes you feel better.

There’s got to be a reason for this. I’m not saying O isn’t a meddler. But did he do it for no reason? Just to be an a-hole? I mean, besides, why doesn’t O meddle in Aranda’s defense?

O pumpers will say Canada is just an A-hole that no one can work with. Which very well may be true. But if it is- Then O has to be held responsible for hiring him and costing LSU 1.7 million and another failed offensive experiment.
