Gym Member 1: Uses 2+ machines and is running back and forth to get in sets and catches and attitude when you try to use one of his machines

Or

Gym Member 2: Uses squat rack and leaves all of his weight on the bar or takes it off and leaves the plates all over the floor

Going to have to say 2 here

I honestly don't care.

One thing that happened to me which is similar to 2 is a guy put a bench right under where the rings go. I asked him to move the bench and he got all upset and said, "What the frick?! I'm leaning my plates against it!"

I told him to stop being a douche and I moved the bench for him.

Both are embarrassing forms of etiquette, but #1 pisses me off the most.

#3: the fatty that uses the treadmill right in front of you. Which is also facing in your direction. When there are plenty of other treadmills to use.

I think #1 is fine as long as it's dead inside

Yeah, it depends on how crowded the gym is for that one.

ETA: I never have a problem sharing a machine.

1.

He is being a turd. I had this happen to me once. Was a woman circuit training and one piece she was using was the cable cross over on the universal machine?!!! This was a Monday and early in the year. The gym was packed. She came up to me and said something. I laughed, “using 3 machines at one time on a Monday at 5pm?”

That was the worst I can recall.

Squat guy is a nuisance. But I just use the weights they leave and put those away properly when done. Not picking up the whole mess but leaving it better than I found it.

I dislike the guy that thinks he can have two machines at once or occupy two benches at once with one if the benches holding their drink, keys etc.

I also dislike the people who want to talk on their phone or extended talking without working out by the equipment they are using.

I just have to wait a few more weeks before these resolution people give up.

If anything, what bothers me more than #1 is a guy who uses a machine and just sits on it taking 10 minute breaks between sets.

This. I don't mind if someone uses more than one machine (I alternate between the dips, pull ups, rowing machine, and lat-pull down bar). That said, I don't "claim" those 4 machines when I'm using a different one. If someone hops in, they hop in. Like a rationalized human being, I wait.

I ignore the attitude. I approach politely and ask about working in with them (I’m not really asking).

No need to be aggressive. Just be nice.

Gym member #3

Sits on a machine facebooking — not doing anything — and gets red arse when you want to use said machine.
