Money and playing a P5 school. Why do they play Notre Dame every year?
Completely different.
During WWII when Notre Dame was on the verge of shutting down, the Naval Academy made ND a training center and helped keep the all male institute open.
Because of that, the two schools play each other every year.

I thought it was implied the OP meant Air Force,Army and Navy. I bet he is well aware we play Texas A&M every year. VMI,Citadel, Marion Institute,Lyman Ward probably weren't considered either.
Colorado Springs would be a great trip. Saw Vandy play Air Force out there when in High School.West Point would be a great trip, too.

Or how about we play in Tiger Stadium. LSU should never travel to a school like that
Why? Because you still believe that this is an elite football program?

I live in Colorado Springs. It would be awesome to have an SEC team come and play AFA.
Arkansas is playing in Fort Collins next year.

For one, with the service academies, the schedules are really tight. AFA and Navy have conference games like LSU as well as commitments to the other two academies plus ND annually for Navy.
Looks like AFA last played and SEC team in regular season when they played Vandy in 82.

I recall Navy playing South Carolina recently.

Hall of Fame Bowl in Birmingham. They did have a home and home from 1976-1979.

I know when O'Keefe was here they were trying to get a neutral site game against Army or Navy.
