Tamiflu most of the time is given as peace of mind. Most of the time when someone comes in with symptoms it's really too late.

All I know is that I felt like death, took tamiflu and felt manageable. Went to sleep and woke up feeling like death. Took tamiflu and felt decent. The third day was better all day. I’m a believer.

If you don't take it within the first 48 hours of your first symptom, it won't do anything for you and will be a waste of $$

It's overrated IMO. It only cuts the flu symptoms by a day or two and at $9 bucks a pill (you usually get a 10 day supply), it's not worth it. Most insurance companies don't really cover it I'm told because it doesn't do that much good for the cost! (I took it about two weeks ago and the damn flu symptoms lasted a week and a half.)
