Denali is on my list. Not sure if I’d ever want to do Everest. Might change my mind though

I did Denali in the winter which is harder than Everest.
I did Everest in 1993 when the wait times at the step weren't so long. The South Col is just a slog except for the stupid wait times at the bottle necks these days. If you are a real mountaineer (have climbing friends and don't need professional guides) the Northeast Ridge and Southeast face make far more sense. Technically harder but safer if you are a solid climber given the issues with the Sol Col these days.
While I haven't done (nor will I ever try, getting to old now) K2, Annapurna and Nanga Parbat by the Rupal Face are by far the biggest notches on my axes.
Despite the fact Denali is not nearly a 8000 meter peak the weather makes it a significant challenge even in the summer. Everest is only harder if you just don't have the genetics for high altitudes.
