They changed the diameter and weight of the balls for faster courts and then all courts. So it says what I wanted it to say. You asked when they changed the rules. Just like in the 80's Slazenger went to yellow for Wimbledon to make it easier to see supposedly.

I like serve and volley tennis and hate 5 hour rally matches.

So in your argument what it takes for winning tennis, why must they punish someone by changing equipment?

Because other equipment changed, and the game needed to be watchable.

Also, your statement that "They changed the diameter and weight of the balls for faster courts and then all courts" isn't supported by what you linked. See my above post.
