Las Vegas shooting investigation

Vegas local media site
For those with law enforcement or criminal justice backgrounds, how uncommon is it to have the these records remain sealed by court order unless they are seeking other suspects or otherwise responsible parties?
Police department's attorney get the case's original judge tossed without an explanation?
Are they going out of their way to try to make this look fishy?
I'm not talking lala land conspiracy here, I'm talking demonstrable actions by the courts and law enforcement that seem to suggest there is more to this than a guy getting a wild hair up his arse to massacre some people.

Many other police records — including additional warrant documents and 911 recordings — remain sealed by the court. The Review-Journal and several other media organizations are suing for their release.
A hearing on the case is scheduled for Jan. 16, about two months after the media organizations originally filed suit.

The case was to be heard Dec. 7, but it was rescheduled after Metropolitan Police Department lawyers filed a challenge that removed the case’s original judge, District Judge Jim Crockett, without reason. The case was then reassigned to District Judge Elissa Cadish, who on Tuesday decided to hear the case in January.

Jesus Christ! Jet fuel can't melt steel beams.

You realize that nothing about this case is common?

No, but heat can and jet fuel can make an awful lot of heat. Wild arse conspiracy tangents don't interest me.
The actions taken by the courts and the police suggest to me that they're still looking to charge others for this, people that either willingly helped this guy or sold him things illegally.
If he is the only suspect and he is already dead, he isn't much of a flight risk and they certainly won't be holding a trial for his corpse. What sensitive information is the court trying to protect with sealed docs and why did the police object to the first judge strongly enough to petition for his removal and have it granted?

No, it is extraordinary in its scope.
That doesn't explain why 911 call recordings and search warrant filings are sealed months later.

The ignorance and stupidity of the average citizen in the country is sobering.

Paddock may not have a trial.
But can you imagine how many entities are at risk for civil trials?
It’s possible the courts are just being thorough.
Of course you could also be right.

My suspicions lie with an investigation of the supply chain for the arsenal that Paddock had in Vegas and back at his house. That's where I think the sealed paperwork may be protecting something that is ongoing.
The police dept attorney getting the original judge tossed in the case to open these documents implies that they foresaw an outcome that they didn't like.

It’s a pretty crazy case for sure. I know people with a lot of guns, but nothing compared to the aresenal that guy had.
Hopefully the facts will come out.

He had explosives back at his house. I haven't found a statement anywhere of what and how much exactly.
While not altogether illegal, they usually require licensure and there just aren't that many recreational explosives hobbyists out there.

i think all of his guns were bought legally.
It’s just crazy he had so many of the same type of guns.
I don’t believe he was a gun runner. CIA gun runners probably don’t buy their guns from Cabella’s. I think it’s more likely the guy just had mental problems.
But nothing will surprise me once we know the full details of the case.

He had tanerite. Perfectly legal. Don’t fall for media hype.

You're right...the courts and law enforcement were in on this. They love the negative publicity.

You seriously believe CIA operatives buy a cache of weapons from a local Cabellas before assinnating foreign dignitaries?

Yes he did.
He had 50 lbs of it in his vehicle, an undisclosed quantity of ammonium nitrate (also legal) and 1,600 rounds of ammunition (also legal).
In totality, suspicious as frick, but still legal.

See, the CIA nonsense doesn't interest me.
Again, I suppose they are building a case against other parties peripherally involved in this.
As you alluded to also, maybe Vegas' big money trying to keep this quiet to limit civil damages in the long term and bad publicity in the short term.
