It's hard to knock an all time great rock voice like Cornell's, but over time his style got kind of monotonous and predictable to me. And I was a HUGE early soundgarden guy. It's like you knew exactly when he was gonna flex his range in any given song, almost formulaic. which isn't a major knock I guess
Staley had a sneaky great voice. Like id mistakenly think sometimes he was just a unique voice that fit their sound perfectly. Then id hear a certain song and remember that dude was fricking velvet smooth and could sing anything
Perry Farrell is a little like that for me too. sometimes I peg him as more just a distinct sound that fit what Jane's did really well. then id hear that one song and remember holy shite this dude will melt your face off
