Co-OCs is Orgeron's way of having a say in the offense. Orgeron wants to change the offense, he just goes to Ensminger who gets it done.

Ok, so that makes Ensminger O's proxy. He's likely to be the buffer between Orgeron's conservative, old school ideas, and Gilbert's aggressive new wave approach.

Going back to Ensminger: offensive philosophy, personality, etc. Which way do you think he will lean? Will he throw a wet blanket over things that scare/mystify O, or will he try to explain things to O to allow them to work?

Because that's the sense I get out of this- O will go for something, if Ensminger looks it over and says it's ok.

added- I mean, if O trusts Ensminger and acknowledges Steve's superior offensive acumen over his own, it makes sense to put Steve in that spot. Let him be the interpreter that Canada never got the benefit of having.
