Is the 2019 class really that good?

Haven't followed recruitment much lately but all the talk is next year's class is supposed to be real special. Is it that much better than this year's class?

YES.
Stud RBs “ones committed”. Stud linemen, STUD LBs, STUD DEs.

It’s unreal man. That’s without even leaving the state of Louisiana. We steal 3-4 highly rated out of staters and hold on to the ones we should have, and this may be LSU’s best class ever.

Thanks!
I kind of quit following it hardcore like I did a few years back. The 5for 5 thing did me in that year LOL

Bush and Parker do not appear to be ranked/rated by 247. Their composite will probably be higher, especially Bush after this past weekend. LINK

Starks also moved back to The Boot. Sonny even CBd him to LSU and SECcountry article in the past 2 months that LSU is his favorite LINK

Pretty much has an elite player at every position either already committed or very high on LSU. Barring a complete clusterfrick of a season this should be top 5 fairly easily.

Its a well rounded group covering most positions. Little top heavy at this point. It is filled out with a lot of athletic WR/DB types. CB is pretty deep. Personally think it's being a little overhyped but a great foundation for a big class if we perform on the field next season

I have following recruiting in Louisiana for 30 years and I do not remember North Louisiana being so weak. There is only 2 players in the top 30!

Plenty of kids will emerge. The beauty of LA recruiting. Always kids under the radar that blow up during camp/combine season

It's a good class but not 2014 level.

#5 Derek Stingley, Jr. is very good.
#1 corner in the state.
#1 corner in the state.

Looking back, fournette and cam rob were the only players from in state to live up to the hype. Ironic that they are teammates now.

Well, I wouldn't say that.
Speedy Noil couldn't leave the drugs alone and fly right, but had he, he would have likely been a 1000 yard WR at TAMU.
Malachi had a great first two years, doing better than any other WR had done as a freshman and sophomore combined since Clayton. For some reason, he just couldn't put it all together in his final
Trey Quinn left after a year, but resurfaced at SMU to catch over 100 passes, go over 1000 yards, and score more than 10 TDs in one year. And if people say it was just because he played weak teams, tell that to Courtland Sutton, who is on the same team, and is about to be drafted in the top 10-15 most likely.
Garrett Brumfield was our best or 2nd best OL this year depending on who you ask, and will be a monster for us next year.
Davon Godchaux started 3 years for us (including as a true freshman). Finished his final year with 62 tackles, 8.5 TFL, 6.5 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries. He was only drafted in the 5th round (I think another year of production would have put him in 3rd or better), yet he started for the Dolphins this year.
Will Clapp was a freshman All American, and will be our best or 2nd best OL next year. He was part of the interior that rated as PFF's best. He needs to be at guard at all times IMO.
Darrell Williams finished his career breaking a record, and had 1150 yards and 9 TDs from scrimmage as the backup.
I still can't blame Harris or any QB who came here from high school. Miles was cancer to QBs, one of his biggest flaws. Statistically, Harris in 2015 was as good as Mett was in 2012, and was better than Etling was last year (2016). Harris, Mett, and Etling had a problem with WRs dropping so many passes, a problem that was a lot worse here, than at most other schools (I'm guessing the constant switching of WR coaches, OCs, and less and less emphasis on the pass game led to it).

On your list, speedy, dupre, and Quinn were the only ones that were really hyped up. The others were solid players but did not receive the attention and accolades this three plus LF7 and Robinson. You could add Gerald Willis to the list of underachievers.
