Got a doe this morning. First deer of the season and needed to fill the freezer. Came home and fried the heart, liver, and tenderloin for the first time. After watching Rinella do it so many times I've been wanting to try it. Turned out really good. Over cooked the liver a little but still not bad.

Saw a spike cruising this morning. Brother in law shot a pig.

Have him set up in a section of hardwoods with thick cutover around it

I’m on CRP field

Half the family had the flu on NYE so we are doing a fire and fireworks for the kids tonight.

Climber in the river bottom with a big slough in front. Watching all of these ducks in here makes me wish I had brought a shotgun instead of my bow...

Box stand

Lever action 30-30 (iron sights)

Haven’t killed a deer in 15 years. Just smoked a doe at approximately 50 yards. Saw tons of blood but may have hit it a bit in the front shoulder. How long should we wait before trying to recover.
