Baylor film room

Baylor film room 2

FAU offense vs. WKU

For those of you interested in what type of offense Kendal Briles runs.

You can skip the links. Briles runs a system they call "greatness".

That FAU v WKU video, what the hell was so special about all of those dives and short crossing passes. I was thinking his approach would be a little more dynamic down the field. Maybe it’s me.

Think I’ve watched damn near every Baylor All 22 cut on YouTube. Hands down my favorite offensive system.

Haven’t seen much of the FAU stuff except for the first game and final 2 so I’ll definitely check these out

The FAU stuff is pretty meh. Doesn’t look like the Baylor stuff, but Baylor also had much better players.

Most college spread offenses are simplistic as frick.

I bet the verbiage/signals in this offense is like pre school compared to the Miles Era or Canada's O

So imagine that system with LSU’s players. Man I really hope this happens.

Yeah, I think Kiffin had heavy influence in the FAU system. You can easily tell by the WR Splits. Veer and Shoot has their guys sideline to sideline.

Exactly. But at FAU he still had the number 9 offense in the country. When's the last time we had a top 10 offense? Briles worst year would be our best year and we would have 5 star receivers all over the place along with ultra talented runningbacks. And a top of the line defense. We would win 11 games next year with Briles alone. But we won't make the hire. It makes too much sense.

"Tempo"

Orgeron hates it. Wouldn't let Canada use it, why would he let someone else?

Because we would win more games and Orgeron would remain as head coach for as long as we have Briles. You would think Orgeron has the foresight? And Orgeron is the one wanting Briles to be hired. The problem is Alleva listening to the SJW's.

You haven't to use tempo methodically. You don't want fast 3 and outs in the SEC putting our defense right back on the field. Do it but not the whole game.

Orgeron is gonna have to realize that every offensive system utilizes some type of tempo. Hell even Georgia used it against Oklahoma when things bogged down

True but it is workable. The sec is not the defensive league it was 5 years ago. And even then, you could still use tempo. I.e. ole miss and auburn.

Truth is, Orgeron doesn't know what he wants:

September 2016 - I want a pro-style offense, like we ran at USC.

November 2016 after losing to Bama - we need to run a spread offense with a dual threat qb

Janaury 2017 - hired Matt Canada who ran neither of the above mentioned offenses

December 2017 - I want to run our old USC offense

January 2018 - I think the Briles spread fast tempo offense would be good here (according to the rumors saying O wants Briles)

Don’t know if he’d let them go tempo or not. I’m sure O, Aranda, and Briles can come up with something that satisfies all sides.

Very much so. It’s literally one word and 3 numbers

Because we only had 4 healthy DL at the time. That has been addressed.
