If you were told that the Tigers were up 3 points with two minutes left in the game...

Would you favor those odds with Aranda coaching the defense? Not defending CEO on his decision to kick on the 2 inch line. I was screaming why the he!! did he do that? But if you told me the Tigers were up 3 with 2 minutes left, I would have said that we win or at least go to overtime and win. Hindsight 20/20, but do see where the decision came from, though I disagree with it.

What if you also knew the ND offense drove the full field and scored a TD and 2 pt conversion on their previous possession?

I'd say no way Dave Aranda's defense gives up a game winning score.

Any intellectually honest, logical fan would take Aranda up 3 with less than 2 minutes to go to the bank.
ND made a play at then end to win the game, we didn't. End of story.

Great point. I would say that Aranda wouldn't let that happen in back to back drives. I would have been wrong obviously, but that's where I would have stood with two minutes left in the game.

WTH are you saying? No one said that they weren't a threat. The question proposes a talking point and odds at a critical junction of this game. What Neutered Lame did at the beginning of the season was of little relevance at that point in the game.

That wasn't on Aranda. That was on Notre Dame's WR making a hell of a catch in combination with piss poor non-wrapping up tackling.

I have seen the scenario many times in the last 14 years.
and I say "oh well, Miles will find a way to frick it up and lose the game"
and then now I say "Oh well, Orgeron wil find a way to frick this game up

I'd have shaken my head in disbelief that LSU would have only up by 3 with 2 minutes left, unless Les was the HC

Take the 3 points. Your defense should not allow the opponent to drive the field with under 2 minutes and score a TD to beat you.

Of course I would.....and Nick Saban would have too as many other coaches who believe defense wins games.
The only reason this is a talking point is because of the great play by ND.....otherwise, you play to win.
The only and I mean only thing that was weird is that the kickers were 0-2 and going for it may have been the safer call....but even then its still putting ND in a position to win with 2:08 and the ball at the 1.

If you'd told me this in a vacuum, yes absolutely.
If you'd told me this after mentioning the offense was dragging its feet through the mud for a majority of the game and the defense was tired, while Notre Dame was picking up momentum on offense, then no
Context is important.

We can debate this shite all day but in the end LSU had the opportunities to win the game and did not execute,Norte Dame did

When ND tied it, I knew we were going to lose whether the D held or not. Etling is the opposite of clutch, so either a drive to win or any type of action in OT would not have gone our way, especially with no kickers.

Who cares, it is a damned if you do damned if you don’t deal there.
More concerning is why we are in a dogfight after getting two turnovers and them
Playing the first half without a QB.

it isn't concerning poor redzone play calls and shitty kickers...
We've struggled with that for 13 weeks.

Except for the fact that they JUST DID THAT. AND converted a 2 pt conversion.
