What's worse...high temps in the summer...or having to deal with crazy floods and hurricanes?

I live on high ground. That stuff doesn't bother me, so...f&%k melting garbage cans, brush fires, and sand storms.

Been here 12 years...never happened to me

brush fires

Stuff like that doesn't happen in PHX metro area but up in northern AZ where there are actual forests to burn. Again...been here 12 years and brush fires have never been a problem in PHX metro.

Those look scarier than they really are. Basically it just makes driving difficult when one is going on and stirs up a bunch of wind and dust. Might knock over a couple trees, mess up people's pools and yards but that is the extent of it really. I actually was outside in the middle of one of those haboobs in a Home Depot parking lot. Just was really dusty. Had to drive very slowly on my way home on surface streets cause I could only see a few feet in front of me. Also...they don't last long.

No hurricanes here. No tornadoes. No earthquakes. No floods. No wildfires.

Again.... I don't have to worry of any major natural disasters here that could destroy my home.

But keep thinking that living in the desert is horrible because of the super high temps. That must be why most everyone I personally know out here...is actually from other states and chose to move to AZ for whatever reason (escape extreme cold climates, jobs, whatever).

My only question in this thread is which Lafayette Baw raw dogged the hell out of LucasP’s woman to hold so much animosity for the area? Dude had to get a 400 mile safe space and still can’t let it go.
