I'd just like to point out that this sentence is false.
It will NOT make it "easier for poor people to afford..........".
They still can't afford it. Getting me to pay their rent doesn't meant THEY can afford it.

agreed, and it also fails to report that these low-income renters were not living in slums at first but nice clean housing areas, until "they" turned them into slums by living and acting like trash. certainly not all of them are to blame, but the vast majority are.
i used to do maint on apt complexes and when section 8 renters moved in it took less then 6 months for them to bust doors down and knock holes in the walls and rip outlet and switch covers off walls. it seemed like it was a game to them see how fast they could destroy the place because the owners were forced to give them a new place when they made theirs unlivable
