What should the fanbase's expectations be next season?

Veteran O-line, but new and inexperienced running backs and an inexperienced quarterback to learn a new system that, if it's what we ran in the final 8 games of last season, is basically a less bloated Cam Cameron offense.

Is that supposed to excite anyone?

Regardless of coordinators or head coach I expect LSU to compete for the SEC championship year in and year out.

With that said - I would put my money on a 5 loss season. Bama, Miami, Auburn, Georgia and Florida.

Maybe we should just cancel the season.

Is that how you are going to argue what I said?

I don’t even see how that makes since? How can promise the best coordinators in the country, hire a guy, fire the guy after one year, and promote Ensminger who nobody else in the country wants? If that doesn’t scream “I have no fricking clue as to what I’m doing” I don’t know what does.

I'm not arguing with anything because as of right now, there is nothing to argue about. All anyone knows is Canada is leaving. Correct?

So what's the debate?

The scenario I presented i.e. what should the expectations be if Ensminger is the OC.

I understand that but as of right now, he's not the OC, right?

The man himself said he has no interest in the position full time. O can't force him to accept the position. If that were the case, Canada wouldn't have come here in the first place.

Let's see how everything pans out and who the hire actually will be. Fair enough?

No need to even ponder the possibility. Ensminger said last year he didn't want the OC job full time. So you're saying he was lying then OR and now wants the job? If he wanted to be an OC, he wouldn't still be the TE coach at LSU. I think he's at a time in his career that he's content w/ his current job, pay and benefits and doesn't want to step into the fire as OC at LSU.

People are so aggressive in their defense of O and everything involving discussing his moves and his tenure here that they can't even discuss a hypothetical without lashing out. It's... pretty weird

Orgeron also said last season that he was going to hire an OC and give him full control of the offense. Was he lying then?

Coaches don't always tell the truth, big dawg.

Hence the "IF" in the thread title.

Then why even post in this thread if you only argue in absolutes when the thread title clearly presented a hypothetical.

Why can't people agree or disagree about what would happen in a hyposthetical situation. It's a sports message board, dude. What are you missing here?

All Ensminger has done as interim OC is break and set records.

Against shite defenses. Scored 10 total against 2016 Florida and Bama combined. With both Fournette and Guice.

How many teams on the 2018 schedule are as good as or better than 2016 Florida?
